I’m a label-reading mama on a mission to find the safest products on the market, for my family and yours!
Please tell us a little about yourself.
Hi! My name is Jess, I live in rural WI with my Husband, my 2 children and a small flock of chickens. My Son is about to turn 6, and my daughter is 3.5. I run a quarterly buying club featuring made in the USA products, work in my Dad’s greenhouses sowing seeds and transplanting baby plants, represent Poofy Organics selling their fabulous line of mostly USDA certified organic products as an independent Guide, and stay home with my children as much as I possibly can! Oh, and I have a blog too 🙂
What’s your recommended solution for cleaning floors?
I’m a huge fan of Poofy Organics all-purpose concentrate. This tiny little bottle of USDA certified organic oils can make ~16 refills of a 16oz bottle. It’s economical, environmentally-friendly, and the best part is it works really well. I have mostly bamboo flooring in my house, but it also works on tiles and linoleum. It is truly an all-purpose cleaner!
Why did you decide to start a blog? What do you enjoy about blogging?
While shopping for my Son’s 1st Birthday, I kept picking up toys and seeing that they were all made in China. It didn’t sit well with me and I thought: there has got to be great quality toys still made here in the USA, right? I began researching and was pleasantly surprised that the answer was YES, there are many great toy brands made right here! I figured I might as well share what I was staying up late researching with others, so launched the FB page: Eco-friendly baby/family products MADE in the USA. A year later I started a website to go along with it, and here we 5 years later already! I have all sorts of made in the USA resources to share, and I’m a dedicated label reader of personal care and cleaning products. I don’t settle for anything but the very best of the very best for my family, and only recommend the same to my online community.
Where do you find most of your inspiration?
My kids. Being responsible for everything that goes in and on their body, and everything surrounding them in their home environment is a huge responsibility. I do not take it lightly and I know I only get 1 shot to get it right.
Can you explain a recent project you’ve been working on?
I just shared this post recently. As I mentioned above, toys were a catalyst for starting my blog, and they’ve continued to inspire me. I wanted to break my Safe Toys by Vendor list down a bit further so cataloged the toys we have grown to love.
